Description

Acetyl-L-Glutathione is an acetylated form of glutathione. This form is well-absorbed and more stable throughout the digestive tract than other forms on the market. Use of stomach acid-resistant capsules (DRcaps™) further protect stability. Laboratory data showed that S-acetyl glutathione increased intracellular glutathione and had a positive effect on many oxidative stress biomarkers.*

What it Does/How it Works:
Glutathione is a potent antioxidant, and its depletion is a component of every chronic disease, or inflammatory condition, including aging. It is the main intracellular anti-oxidant found in the liver.

Hepatitis C is disease of oxidation. The Hepatitis C Virus does not directly injure the hepatocytes or liver cells. It is a cellular immune response to the presence of the HCV virus that generates a reactive oxygen species (ROS) that subsequently damages the liver. This happens in the lysosomes, which are organelles found in each cell of the body. These are the little chemical factories of the cells that produce the ROS in an attempt to kill the invading virus. Adequate Glutathione in the body is a front-line defense against liver injury caused by reactive oxygen species.

Glutathione is also the anti-oxidant protection for red blood cells. It allows red blood cells a longer lifespan, which builds blood counts. This gives strength quickly when people are anemic or blood deficient.
